Paleo Tallow Crackers Recipe

If you find yourself craving crackers or chips while following a Paleo lifestyle, you’ll LOVE having this recipe the next time a craving strikes! With ingredients like tallow and almond flour, you’ll never go back to highly processed boxed crackers.

Grass Fed Beef Tallow is loaded with CLA, an anti-inflammatory fatty acid that helps protect the heart. Unlike the oils commonly used in crackers, which can oxidize and form harmful compounds when exposed to high heat, tallow remains stable due to its high smoke point. This makes it ideal for healthy baking, searing, and frying.

What’s more, tallow helps to satiate and calm cravings. And almond flour is a vitamin-rich, nutrient-dense ingredient that is great for creating crackers that you won’t overeat, although they are addicting!

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Rolling Pin

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Combine almond flour, arrowroot powder, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Stir well and make a well in the middle.
  2. Add egg, tallow and filtered water. Mix well to form dough.
  3. Roll dough out onto a large piece of parchment paper using a lightly greased rolling pin to about ⅛ -¼ of an inch. Use a sharp knife to slice into 1½ -2 inch crackers. This will make them easier to separate after baking.
  4. Transfer dough on parchment paper to a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown around edges.
  5. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with additional salt right away. Slice crackers again along lines to separate them.
  6. Cool completely on baking sheet, about 1 hour. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
